Kendrick Lamar’s "DAMN Album" Goes No. 1 Again

kendrick Kendrick Lamar's 'DAMN.' Goes No. 1 Again Foreign
When Kendrick Lamar dropped his DAMN. album in April, the stellar body of work comfortably sat atop the Bilboard charts at No. 1 for three weeks straight before getting knowcked down to No. 2 with JAY-Z’s 4:44 release.
Now, in a strong comeback, Kung Fu Kenny’s album has once again taken its spot at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

This new report comes shortly after Kendrick wrapped up his headlingin DAMN. Tour alongside Travis Scott, and it seems that the run certainly did its job in keeping the album at the front of everyone’s minds.
Billboard reports that DAMN. has pushed the equivalent of 47,000 album units since August 10th, according to Nielsen Music. Out of these earnings, 11,000 have been traditional album sales, earning its fourth nonconsecutive week at the top spot.
The publication further notes that “the album is the week’s most-streamed title on the Billboard 200, with 46.2 million on-demand audio streams generated by its songs.”

Recently, Kendrick Lamar covered the latest issue of Rolling Stone with the music magazine dubbing him the “Greatest Rapper Alive.” While the phrase naturally sparked debate on its accuracy, K.Dot is certainly living up to the hype when he accomplishes considerable feats such as these.
“I called myself the best rapper. I cannot call myself the best rapper if I have a ghostwriter.,” Kendrick controversially stated in the sit-down. “If you’re saying you’re a different type of artist and you don’t really care about the art form of being the best rapper, then so be it. Make great music. But the title, it won’t be there.”
