The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have stormed Ayegbami Quarters, Imosan-Ijebu, Ogun State, on Tuesday, and arrested the chief herbalist allegedly behind Badoo attacks, Fatai Adebayo, also known as Alese.
The 34-year-old Alese, who specializes in administering oath on members before they launch any attack, was arrested at his shrine in Imosan Village, a suburb of Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State by a team, which included men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Rapid Response Squad and Lagos State Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, and was led by the state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi.
It is understood that upon his arrest, ritual paraphernalia – including grinding stones, small gourds, rosaries, and bottles of different sizes housing ground substances – was seen inside his shrine.
Speaking with newsmen, Imohimi disclosed that one of the Badoo suspects arrested last week mentioned Adebayo as an accomplice and led the team to the shrine. He said the unnamed kingpin of the group had also been arrested.
