Paul Pogba has been left out of the Manchester United starting line-up for Wednesday’s Champions League last 16, first leg against Sevilla in Spain.
The French midfielder missed United’s weekend FA Cup win at Huddersfield Town due to illness, and has also come in for criticism from manager Jose Mourinho for his recent performances.
Scott McTominay, 21, starts instead, alongside Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera.
January signing Alexis Sanchez starts on the left wing in his first Champions League appearance for United, while Victor Lindelof plays in central defence despite Eric Bailly being available again after injury.
Argentine playmaker Ever Banega and his compatriot Joaquin Correa, a winger, have both overcome fitness concerns to start for Vincenzo Montella’s Sevilla side.
Wissam Ben Yedder, Sevilla’s leading scorer in the competition this season, is only on the bench.
Sevilla have never made it past the last 16 in the Champions League in three previous attempts, while United are appearing at this stage of the competition for the first time since 2014.
