Nigerian stars Obafemi Martins, Aaron Samuel and Joel Obi were among the goals scorers for their various clubs across the globe.
The 33-year-old Martins netted thrice for Shanghai Shensua in the 62nd, 76th and 90th minutes to help his side beat Hebei CFFC 4-2.
It was his club’s second win of the new season and they are now sixth on the table with seven points from three matches.
Samuel scored twice for strugglers Amkar Perm to beat Russian league leaders Lokomotiv Moscow 2-1 on Saturday.
The striker, who is on laon from CSKA Moscow, drew the home team level from the penalty spot after 48 minutes. He then fired home a superb match winner 10 minutes later.
He was replaced in the 65th minute with compatriots Brian Idowu and Fegor Ogude playing the entire game for Amkar Perm.
Also, Obi scored his fifth goal in the Italian Serie A on Saturday – his best-ever tally since his debut for Inter Milan in the 2010/11 season – as Torino won 4-0 at Cagliari.
Fresh from Super Eagles duty, Obi hit target three minutes from time for his team’s fourth goal after he was introduced in the 77th minute.
