Four suspected rapists have been apprehended in connection with the gang-raping of a 19-year-old girl in Minna, Niger State.
Our correspondent learnt that the suspects are Muhammed Sirajo, 21; Shafi Muhammed, 19; Muhammed Abubakar, 19, and Musa Ilya, 16.
They were trailed and arrested in the Barakin Sale area of Minna by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
It was learnt that one of the suspects had proposed to the girl but she declined, which reportedly infuriated the gang.
Northern City News gathered on Tuesday that the gang reportedly ambushed the girl while on her way home.
The case was later reported to the NSCDC, leading to the arrest of the suspects.
The NSCDC state Commandant, Philip Ayuba, confirmed the arrest, noting that the suspects had confessed to the crime, and they had been handed over to the state Ministry of Justice for prosecution.
