The President, Nigeria Boxing Board of Control, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo, has commended Anthony Joshua for winning the unification fight with Joseph Parker on Saturday night in Cardiff, United Kingdom.
Ladipo, who was at the ringside to cheer the British Nigerian to victory, stated that he had earlier predicted Joshua’s victory, noting that he had no doubts about the pugilist’s ability to conquer the boxing world.
The NBB of C boss was part of a Nigerian delegation who watched AJ’s victory over his challenger at the Principality Stadium, Cardiff.
Other Very Important Persons on the delegation included Governor KunleAmosu of Ogun State, Billionaire entrepreneur, Tony Elumelu, Chief Executive Officer, Bet9ja, Ayo Ojuroye, and others.
This was contained in an emailed statement on Sunday by the facilitator of the trip, and Director, Aston Peel Global, Khomeini Bukhari.
It explained that Ladipo stated in an interview shortly after the fight that he had earlier predicted “a 10-2 rounds in favour of AJ.”
The statement said, “Nigerians who watched the unification fight between Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker, said they did not entertain any fear about AJ’s chances of winning the fight.
“The President, Nigeria Boxing Board of Control, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo, said the huge support for Joshua was what wowed him, adding that he loved the electrifying atmosphere inside the arena.”
Bukhari added that he was also confident that Joshua would win the fight, noting that “it’s not an opinion, it’s a fact.”
