The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Suleja Depot branch, has urged lawmakers to support the intervention measures of the Federal Government in eradicating fuel scarcity in the country.
The call, according to a statement on Sunday, was made at the depot during a meeting by the leadership of the association to review the assistance given to them by the Petroleum Products Marketing Company.
The Chairman, IPMAN, Suleja Depot branch, Alhaji Salihu Butu, thanked the Managing Director of the PPMC, Mr. Umar Ajiya, for the interventions aimed at enhancing the availability of fuel in the country.
Butu said the recent intervention of the PPMC was being used to make transportation of petroleum products easy for trucks conveying the products to different filling stations across the zone.
He said with the gesture, the leadership of IPMAN in Suleja “decided to sell diesel to bridging trucks at N190 instead of the initial price of N235 per litre.”
“The IPMAN leadership in Suleja Depot pledged to review the pump prices of petroleum products as the intervention of the PPMC is used to reduce the cost of transportation, which is a major factor that determines the selling price of products,” the statement said.
The Secretary, IPMAN, Suleja Depot, Mr. Isiaka Bello, while thanking the management of the PPMC for the intervention, urged the company not to desist from helping the marketers to survive.
