Since, we are still at the earlier period of the Glorious month of Sha'aban (the month preceding Ramadan) - 8th today (NSCIA); it is good we revise the two below Aahadiths on the virtue of fasting in this glorious month:
1. The blessed companion Usama ibn Zaid , reports that he asked Prophet Muhammad : "Messenger of Allah, I have seen you fasting in the month of Shaban so frequently that I have never seen you fasting in any other month." Prophet Muhammad , replied: "That (Shaban) is a month between Rajab and Ramadan which is neglected by many people. And it is a month in which an account of the deeds (of human beings) is presented before the Lord of the universe, so, I wish that my deeds be presented at a time when I am in a state of fasting."
2. Muslim (1156) narrated that Abu Salamah said: “I asked ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) about the fasting of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and she said: ‘He used to fast until we thought that he would always fast, then he would not fast until we thought that he would always not fast, but I never saw him fast in any month more than he fasted in Sha’baan. He used to fast all of Sha’baan, and he used to fast all of Sha’baan apart from a few days.’” (IslamQA)
Above reports indicate that fasting in the month of Shaban, though not obligatory is very deserving and that Prophet Muhammad did not like to miss it. (Islam city).

Today is Thursday, 2nd, April 2020(at the time of the post) - equivalent to the 8th day of Shaaban (NSCIA). By implication, Monday (6th), Tuesday(7th), Wednesday(8th) and Thursday (9th of April) are respectively equivalent to the 12th; 13th, 14th and 15th (Ayaamul beed) where fast is recommended by the prophets in authentic Hadiths.
To this end, you are implored to take opportunity of these days to earn great reward, seek forgiveness, prepare for ramadan and have your prayers accepted. May Allah make it easy for us all.
Do not forget to inform your relatives too for whoever points someone to a righteous deed is as if he does it. We pray Allah make us witness more of it on earth in good faith and sound health (Ameen).
Was-salam Alaykum Waramotulah wabarakatuh.
