LACVIS inspects 5000 vehicles

Lagos State Computerised and Vehicle Inspection Service, LACVIS, has disclosed that a total of 5000 vehicles have passed through its center for inspection since the commencement of the programme in year 2017.

Speaking in Lagos during a retreat for LACVIS staff and management team,  LACVIS General manager Segun Ogunnaike, said LACVIS intends to create more vehicle inspection centres across the state before the end of the year.

He said the vehicles were inspected in both its Ojodu and Ikorodu centers just as road worthiness certificates were issued to the various owners after the completion of  inspections.

Ogunnaike who highlighted parking brakes as the major cause of failure recorded during the inspection said he will leave no stone unturned to reduce road accidents.

According to him, the programme with theme ‘’The Year in Review (2017) ‘’, was to collaborate with Lagos State Vehicle Inspection Centres headed by Engineer Gbolahan Toriola.

Earlier in his address, Engineer Toriola commended  the synergy between both organisations and saluted the courage of LACVIS management team in setting enviable standards in vehicle inspection.

He assured that the organisations will ensure that road carnages are reduced.

Also speaking were the Deputy Director of VIS, Engineer Abel Adebayo who presented a paper titled, ‘’Efficient Advocacy of vehicle Maintenance to Motorists” and LACVIS Managing Director represented by Commander Wale Okulenu who presented a paper titled, ‘’Leadership qualities that drive organization to greater heights,”.
