The Catholic Bishop of Minna Dioceses, Bishop Martins Uzuokwu, on Thursday, lauded the Federal Government for securing the release of Dapchi school girls.
Uzuokwu gave the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Minna.
“We urged the Federal Government to commit more political commitment to ensure the release of the remaining Chibok girls and all those held hostages by the Boko Haram.
“I am really impressed with the ability of the Federal Government to negotiate terms that led to the speedy and safe release of these innocent girls,’’ he said.
He commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for their immense contributions and sacrifice towards ensuring the return of peace to the North-eastern part of the country.
Uzuokwu said that the release of the girls showed the commitment of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that the abduction saga was brought to an end.
The Bishop also called on the government to ensure that nothing would hinder the education of the girls.
He called on the Federal Government to commit more political commitment to ensure all the remaining girls still under the custody of the Boko Haram terrorists are freed without any casualty and reunited with their parents.
Uzuokwu called on Nigerians to support the efforts of the security agencies by coming out with required intelligence information that would pave way for the arrest and prosecution of all those involved in acts.
