A survivor of a plane crash that killed 49 people in Nepal has described how he and a friend escaped.
The plane was carrying 71 passengers and crew when it crashed on landing at Nepal’s Kathmandu airport, killing 49 people, according to police. The incident happened on Monday.
The survivor, Sanam Shakya, narrates, “As far as I know, it didn’t feel normal, but there was no announcement so I didn’t panic.”
Continuing, he says, “Suddenly, the plane made an emergency forced landing, after which it eventually stopped.
“For a while, we were not sure of what happened. I looked around and heard people panicking and screaming.

“We felt we had to make a hole and get out to survive. We started to hit a window with our hands…”
