The Lagos State Government has said it will support youths with innovative ideas that will boost tourism in the state.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Fola Adeyemi, said this at the inauguration of a multi-functional application called ‘Bizzybody App’ in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The app was developed by a young entrepreneur, Seun Ayeni, who said he was inspired by his unending desire for solutions to identify missing links in the entertainment industry.
Adeyemi noted that the application would bridge the gap in the entertainment industry and also eased the stress associated with locating venues of major entertainment activities within and around some Nigerian cities.
“I urge youths in the state to come up with ideas that will take tourism to another level. The government is interested in creative ideas that will help to drive tourism in the state,” Adeyemi said.
Explaining his innovation, Ayeni said the Bizzybody initiative, which started two years ago as an event directory, had included online chat room for users of the app and events ticketing, among others.
“Once you click on the app, it will source for events happening within your area because your location would have been captured in our database during the registration stage. You will be left with the option of choosing which of the events you want to attend,” he said.
